WTF? we're getting an update which isn't BB10?
LOL. I wasn't expecting BB10 update this soon anyway......especially if the US will not be able to purchase(thru carriers) BB10s until late March.
what is new ???
nothing new :(
I'm so ******* pissed off !!!!!
I feel like crap fro stealing androip apps on my pb god damn it !!!
are rim idiots ????
this is a big insult to me as an old user !!! I expected at the bb 10 launch to receive on my pb the os 10 update everyone happy ..
**** !! can't eve use sideloaded yahoo mess on it properly for video and audio call
stupid 2.1 os
wow,,, try the decaf dude...
Disappointed with blackberry! BB10 launched but not available for download on playbook.
When Apple release a new IOS they are immediately availablefor download on the Iphone,Ipod and Ipad.
This sucks!
Well, there have been disclaimer type warnings "not" to believe all the hype. LOL. Wake me when it's March. :)
Calm down kids. I can understand the disappointment, but there was no promise of instant BB10 satisfaction, especially for the PlayBook. Patience is truly a virtue ;)
I compared your screenshot with my .1314 playbook. Just minor updates to Flash and Air, both going from .71 to .74. Maybe only closing some security holes ...
It wouldn't surprise me if there was another 2.1.0.XXXX update before the fabled BB10 update. Often it can be a 'enabler' update to make the transition to the new OS version easier.
still doesn't appear at me this update..
1492 - should we name this one the 'Discovery of the Americas' release.
hmm.... dont actually care. just bring BB10. even if we have to wait till march
You guys are a bunch of entitled brats. You should be thanking RIM for even bringing BB10 to the Playbook at all. It would have been unwise of them not to, sure. But you guys are acting like someone promised BB10 would be available for the Playbook at launch. Once OS10 for Playbook is released I'm sure we will get updates much closer to when they are available for phones.
I'll thank them when i get it. Words are cheap when it comes to RIM. No hate.
Are you sure you really need it? At the demonstration, the gestures were set up for a portrait oriented phone. Is that going to translate to the landscaped PB?
Anyone else tried this? Any devs know what this error refers to?
I didn't even try to read the log. I tried to load it and it booted. However, it was just a background :D LOL
I connected my PlayBook to BlackBerry Link for the first time today. It installed some update but the OS is still at version .1314 with no further update available.
Agreed. My iPad 1 was hardly 2y old when declared obsolete by Apple and refused iOS 6. Not to mention all the Android devices that get no love after release.
Having such a massive update coming to the PlayBook was unexpected, especially when no other BB device will benefit from a similar attention. Still, the BB10 update is probably the only thing that makes me keep my PlayBook and not sell it on eBay. I love it, but in practice just use my... iPad.
I actually dont even want BB10 on my Playbook. All I want is one more update that just dots the i's and the t's on the current build and I'm done for the next 18 months till the Playbook is replaced with something newer.
Switching to BB10 this late on a not very popular and now quite old piece of kit just makes me feel we'll get an initial buggy release of BB10 and then support gets dropped.
No BB10 upgrade for PB = a BB fail.....
No release for PB (promised or not) is a big kick in the teeth for all those who have stood by the PB.
Apple as already stated, release updates for all their devices. Not just a selected few revenue generating new models.
And that people was exactly what BB10 was, just a revenue generating exercise... If it was a market changing OS then why was it not released on devices current and new capable of running it.
I understand that tech eventually stops being supported in favour of new better tech, but if you still have tech in the market place being sold and used then you are failing those users and customers by not keeping that tech up to date......
It's a bit like me having a favourite child.
BlackBerry have failed yet again, by neglecting the die hard PB users. The least BlackBerry could have done was release a PB upgrade along side the main launch as thank you to the PB faithful....
RIM has been saying for months that BB10 will come to the PlayBook after they finish concentrating on getting the phones out.
The first things they will probably concentrate on its just getting Bridge and video chat working properly between 2.1 and BB10 phones. That needs to work as soon as the phones hit the street.
