RIM employee deeply involved in this project. FYI, before 2.1 comes out, there'll be another 2.0.1 update.

Any chance that the early summer reference was to a public beta release of OS 2.0.1 in May?

Any mention of IMAP subfolder support in email? Mail client is pretty useless without it.

I haven't tested IMAP specifically but Exchange and Gmail both have subfolder support but I can understand why some people haven't noticed.
    1. Click on the @ icon in the top left of the Messages app
    2. Select one of the configured accounts. All accounts won't work.
    3. Click on the folder icon above the list of messages
    4. enjoy

Thanks good tip. I had noticed the folder feature, but because it takes several seconds to update the messages in a folder, I never saw any displayed messages. However after a bit of patience I now see how handy this is.

It is manual sync. Imagine you have several email accounts and each account has quite some sub folders. It would be a pain to sync them.

Until they fix the native email, it will never be business ready. Managing attachments is a joke right now, painfully frustrating. My 9850 is light years ahead of my pb right now. Even my 9530 on .65 was better

What happened to small incremental bug fixes updates? I'd be happy with those and throwing in a feature or two like "send to".

Yes, it is interesting that Rim seems to periodically suggest that those small incremental bug fixes will occur but then abandons that method and we wait while some critical bugs and just plain nuisances continue to irritate users. I guess we have to accept that it is what it is - now if only someone like Clinton could define what "is" is!

    It's next week, then.

They said the 2.1 beta would be out before the end of May, didn't they?

That's for the actual release I think, not the beta.

    Bridge texting messaging
    Personal encryption
Portrait mode native PIM apps (The Bridged apps have had this for a while now)
New APIs for android apps (most interesting one being access to the camera)
    Multitasking Android apps

That's about all the main points.
