It thinks 2.1.0.1753 is current. Tried BB link but it said the same thing.

Have you tried turning off your wifi and turning off the PB completely before plugging it into your computer? I had to turn off wifi, take out my SIM (I have the LTE model), turn off the PB, then plugged it in. I didn't use Link, though. I used the old BB desktop software.

Make sure you have the latest version of Link or BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Try it with the wifi off and the SIM out of the Playbook if it is an LTE version.

I just updated one of my LTE versions this way today. I had to upgrade Link on the Mac prior to it working. It didn't seem to be installing so I hit the cancel button and then unplugged the PlayBook, rebooted the PlayBook and tried again. Then the upgrade installed.

I have tried OTA. Says I am up to date, 2.1.0.1753 is current. Tried Desktop Manager with no luck (wifi off or on).

If all else fails, you could try an autoloader install for 2.1.0.1917.

    Autoloaders:

    WiFi: http://l.bitcasa.com/zT_WYGJF

    LTE/3G (2.1.0.1283 radio): http://l.bitcasa.com/r3ok1DXZ

Yeah one of my two playbooks haven't received this update, which I found odd especially with the he app world warning.

    I might try the autoloader

Does using the autoloader on the playbook clear everything out like the BB10 autoloader?

My experience with an autoloader upgrade on the z10 had me rebuild everything.

I really don't want to go this route... I'm hoping my PB will get the update notification soon.

    Hi,
Same for me although the story is a little different:

Had 2.1.0.1917 installed then had to do a security wipe. After that the PB came up with only the browser and setup icon. So I brought it back to life following KB34045-How to clean reload the BlackBerry 10 OS or BlackBerry PlayBook OS using BlackBerry Link where I ended up with 2.1.0.1753.

However no upgrade to 2.1.0.1917 was offered and when I go for "Check for Updates" my PB says that I've already got the latest version installed.

So it seems to have "forgotten" hat it already was at 2.1.0.1917 and should upgrade from 2.1.0.1753 to 2.1.0.1917.

Any ways to get the upgrade installed - besides autoloading etc.?

This also strange to me. I have already received the notification yesterday, but I decided to go for it later as I was in a hurry. Today the notification is gone and when I checked for updates ... nothing...

It seems like they just removed the update.
They just can't do anything correct for the playbook. Even this last thing....

This update is buggy. Certainly the app world is more buggy. Id say the update was removed temporarily. Not sure though. Strange. They still haven't provided release notes.

I've read about the numerous bugs.

It's possible they removed it and are revising it??

The last thing I want is a buggy update and have that be the last update.

Mine is running fine and I use it every day at work for taking notes in meetings etc.

Same here: yesterday immediately after the reset/re-installation of the OS no update was found but today (about 24hrs later) the update to .1917 was offered and I installed it OTA (around 177MB).
