Mail broken since update
Why oh why did I update to the latest patch? lol
My playbook tablet worked fine on the previous 2.0 version.
Now, my mail wont update.... ever. It says the playbook is not connected to a network. But browsing and updating apps workd fine. I tried deleting the accounts and recreting them. But I can't because it freezes during the delete process. I let it sit there for 3 hours yesterday just for fun.
Deleting........... *3 hours later* Deleting.....
Nothing happened.
What's going on?
Any fix I could try? - 08-16-2012, 08:40 AM #2
Mail from where? What service?
Sent from me using my fingers. Be pantless in 5K. Febreze - for more than smells.

All of them, I'm talking about the default mail app for the playbook.
I have several accounts from gmail, hotmail, facebook and twitter linked to it.
Before the update, everything worked.
Now nothing works. - 08-16-2012, 09:19 AM #4
So you're on .668? Have you deleted them reboot and re added them?

I'm on the latest OS. Don't know the exact number. I don't have the playbook with me.
As I said in my original post. I can not delete the accounts. The mail app just sits there "deleting...." and nothing happens. It freezes. I tried rebooting the playbook.
Didn't fix the problem. Can't get my mail and I can't delete the accounts to re-add them after. - 08-16-2012, 09:25 AM

Two possible options. Call support and debrick to the ealier OS version. BACKUP Manually if necessary any unique files, like photos, videos, voice notes, docs, etc.
The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

Try the Debrick method....
Perform a backup of your pb if you can using Desktop Manager or, at least, manually coping any unique data, photos, voice recordings, documents, etc.
1) Turn your playbook OFF by holding down the power button
2) Let your playbook sit for about 10 minutes as earlier suggested.
3) After letting the PB sit (and still powered off) open up the Blackberry Desktop Software (the latest version)
4) Once the Blackberry Desktop Software is opened, use the USB Cable and hook the PB to the PC.. THEN power on the Playbook
5) A screen will show on your computer showing that the device cannot be found
6) Click on Update. It will take awhile - 08-16-2012, 09:45 AM

Will that do a factory reset on everything?
I don't want to lose progress in several games I have.
BTW, thanks everyone for the quick replies!

Mine as well, I can update, the problem is that I get the sending message indicator. Then it turns to X. I deleted the sent message. However, waiting for a few seconds, the tablet will get the sent message with a check mark.
I was wondering if you guys know any workaround for that? Aside from what I'm doing. I think this only affect exchange clients.
