I let my playbook update and since that point I have had it lock up and crash more in the first 2 hrs then in the months previous. The total lockup was a real surprise I had to hold the power off button for a long time and finally it turned off. The crashing browser is not totally new as I have seen that before. Curious if it is just me or others notice any negative affects. I don't use the unit much anymore but still find it handy to have around if it happens to be charged up.

I would agree with you I bought a playbook recently and it wouldn't let me start it up with doing the update and I find it very slow and sluggish, I was looking forward to using it a bit, but my iPad is so much better, I liked it cause it was a bit smaller and easier to handle.

No crashing issues on mine. I actually think it's quicker since the update too. :-)

    No problem for me.
Live TV streaming in HD works much better now for international TV stations.
I use the PlayBook browser with flash.
Origami browser or fast browser are not as good for flash.

Gawker often crashes my browser. The problem with some android ports thinking that wifi is turned off, introduced in 2.1 has not been fixed. Sometimes the perceived improvements in performance after an update is due to caches being cleaned out, and after a few weeks it's back to the way it was. I'm looking at alternatives now but so far they all have things I find annoying or are overpriced.

It took a hardware reset on mine, not a security wipe, and after a few days I'm getting amazing performance. My battery life and app launching are much improved.

Downloaded and installed in about 15 minutes. The reboot, of course, took 20. Everything went off without a hitch.

Stop, drop and roll. Oops, I mean try a hard reset (PWR+Vol keys). If that doesn't help things, try a backup, wipe and after testing, a restore.

No crashing problems here, but any video I record with the PlayBook since the update has terrible rhythmic static that makes the audio almost completely impossible to listen to on playback.

Mine - except for the stock email app which seems to crash on occasion - is doing better than before the update.

Sorry to hijack but live TV streaming? Can I ask what service you use? I'm trying to get away from my cable TV service and have yet to find a good live TV provider.

A slow climb to the top is always more rewarding. Sent using my BlackBerry Z10.

Hey Reg, I thought they had a knock off app of some sort (that I could sideload) for netflix.. either way it should play netflix through it's browser right?

No way I know of to make it work. For such a good browser it can't handle netflix or netflix won't let it not sure.

Nope Netflix won't work in the browser. You have to use the flix? App and work around. You may or may nit find it worth it.
