Issues with. 7111. BlackBerry ID; App World
UPDATE 3
BlackBerry Guy discovered a fix. The fix is as follows:
Try setting your date forward, then go into your bbid screen so that your PlayBook can can pull all your info, then go back and change the date back to the correct one. You should be able to install after that.
UPDATE 2
Problem will reappear eventually after wiping. If you do decide to wipe, reinstall everything and back that up.
UPDATE 1
So reading over the posts it seems like the best option is to either call support, wipe your PlayBook , downgrade, or hope for a nearing update.
If you decide to wipe make sure to re-register your PIM for the 2.0 Developer build to reinstall some of the factory applications suchas App World, Weather and Docs to Go.
So if you are experiencing this problem that's probably your best bet. Like some stated, it's beta software, you can't complain, you can just try to compromise or DYI it and hope for the best.

Running 2.0.0.7111 Developers Build. I understand the risks involved when using the developer build but I would like to know if anyone is experiencing this issue and has anyone learned the reason behind this as well as a reasonable fix.
I am having issues with the BlackBerry Apps World.
When I try to download, reinstall or update I get:
"Install Error:[0003-0005]
There was a problem during installation. Please try again."
I thought this had to do with BlackBerry ID. I go to BlackBerry ID and I receive the error message:
"BlackBerry ID Locked
You have exceeded the maximum number of attempts to verify your password.
For security reasons, you have been locked out for 49458518 minutes."
Any ideas anyone?

Well, 49458518 minutes = 94 YEARS so you'll have to wait it out for about a century
hehe... Or, contact RIM to reset your BBID/password

Downgrade and wait for the official OS to hit. Carry on with the errors. What else can you do?

I don't know, I'm simply curious and bother. I would downgrade but the effort involved to downgrade and reinstall everything is...bothersome.
I would like to add I tried backing up my application data, but Desktop Manager and my PlayBook are acting a little stubborn at the moment.
Good times, good times, can't wait for that official build.

Its not as cumbersome as you would expect. I was on the fence also about downgrading or just dealing with it and decided to downgrade. Only took about 30 minutes to reinstall all my apps and move stuff around. I do miss the folders and dock of 2.0 and a few of the android apps but I can wait patiently.

I'm getting the same Install Error:[0003-0005]. Running latest dev build. I'm not getting the password message though and can download apps on my 9300. Problem only seems to be on the Playbook. I can't download or update apps. I can browse the app store but can't refresh 'my world'. I've cycled my router, rebooted my PB multiple times but the problem persists. Odd thing is I was fine until yesterday. Can sign in to my account on the web with no problems. It's very frustrating, other people seem to be having issues going back to last year on and off looking from searching the web but I can't find a definitive reason/fix for this issue.

Scratch that, I am getting the blackberry id message..... looks like I'm going to be over a hundred years old before I can update NFS...

Suffering the same two problems here (appworld errors and BB ID error). I think they are related. My sequence began with errors trying to purchase a new app and also upgrade an existing app (Need for Speed). After clicking the Purchase or Upgrade buttons in Appworld a brief message flashed up saying 'Authenticating' (validating my BB ID??) disappeared, and then nothing.
So naturally I tried the same thing over and over (including reboots, etc.) hoping for a different outcome.....
(Subsequent attempts did not bring up the 'Authenticating' message again, until after a reboot.)
I suspect that each attempt at purchasing/downloading an app was also a failed attempt to validate my BB ID, which would explain the subsequent BB ID error after nmerous failed attempts - and then the ID lock-out.Last edited by asherwiin; 01-25-2012 at 10:15 AM.

I did setup some payment details (new Playbook, hadn't bought an app yet) a few days ago but I'm pretty sure I was okay after that. Downloaded 'Wetpaint' for my nephew to play around with. No idea why this would suddenly happen, I wasn't repeatedly hitting the 'purchase' button and haven't DL anything paid yet in any case.... couldn't if I wanted to at the mo'.

I got a similar error when trying to download alphawave, but was only locked out for 15 minutes. Waited the 15 minutes put in my BBID password correctly and all was good again. Apps update just fine also.

Did you have any lockout error around your blackberry ID as well as the 0003-0005 message?
- 01-25-2012, 10:37 AM #15
Funny, I got the error, but didn't get locked out.
I had to attempt 4 times to upgrade NFS before it worked.
Then, when it did, it too about an hour or better.

Did you do anything at all between the last failed attempt and the successful upgrade? Reboot? Turn off your Playbook for the time period? Login to your account via the web, change your password, download another app, etc.?
Just looking for anything that might have inadvertantly resolved the issue! - 01-25-2012, 02:11 PM #17
Well, looks like I've fixed it. Tried resetting my password through the Blackberry website but no joy so I looked around for other options. Don't know if it's the only way to resolve the issue but it's worked. Did some digging and found some info around password verification. In the end I security wiped my Playbook. Connecting to the desktop software reverted me from dev back to the latest stable OS and I can now access AppWorld. I'll stay with this OS for a few days as it's a pain to reinstall everything although thankfully you can still track everything you did have installed before the wipe in AppWorld under the same id. Not long until official OS 2.0 anyway hopefully.
More info here if anyone is interested.

... I miss my folders. - 01-25-2012, 03:42 PM #19
I got the same issue and found this solution. I guess the problem is with missing info about the ID.
Switch off the wifi
Tether to the phone
Select BlackBerry ID to get a refresh of your ID
Switch on the wifi
Start AppWorld
Select your download and when it starts the tether can be switched off, the download will keep going.
Until AppWorld remain open, all other download should work without problems.
Try and let know if works also for other! - 01-25-2012, 03:48 PM #20
If anyone else can confirm this works I might get my folders back after all
