Default Hows battery life on the newest OS2?

That's my question, I have not updated to the newest one yet, but I just picked up a 64GB still on first charge, so I am wondering. I had a 16GB and on the past OS2 update, the battery life did not fare very well... I would have to recharge every day and a half. On regular 1.0.8 it was once every 2 or 3 days. So how is it on this newest OS update?

    I don't notice a significant difference between 1.0.8 and the 2.0 beta.

In standby, the beta uses possibly 10-15% more power, though with differences in consumption between two arbitrary tablets, and from moment to moment, it's hard to measure that.

Out of standby, I've seen no measurable difference. The only thing that sometimes makes 2.0 consume more power for me are the bugs which prevent it from completely entering standby, or completely shutting down. (You can detect that by checking that the screen/backlight has gone completely off by shielding the screen with your hand and peeking under it for signs of brightness, preferably in dim lighting.)

Although my usage pattern hasn't been exactly the same as usual the last two days, I seem to be getting MUCH better battery life from the current 2.0 build. I would normally be getting down to the 20% range near the end of the day and always getting the 8 or 9% alarm by night time. The last few days, I haven't gotten below 50%

That is good enough for me... I am updating to the new Beta now on my new, still on first charge, 64GB PB. Can't wait...I just love the new layout.

Man, I'm loving the Battery life with OS2. For me, it is indeed "MUCH" better. Even while using wi-fi, and Bluetooth. It'll last me all day with 20+% left, after heavy use.

I did however noticed that it takes a little longer to fully charge. Not sure if its my mind playing tricks on me, though. I charge it over night, so its not even an issue

Are there any Battery Guru users who have observed actual, better battery life under 2.0? Sure would be nice to see some hard data on these claims... export files and all. ;-)

Also, and this could be my imagination, but the PB seems to charge more effectively when connected to PC usb when the PB is in standby mode.

I get 2 days on 2.0 with moderate use. With heavy use I usually have around 20-25% remaining by the end of the day. Using the PB non stop all day and still not having to plug it in is AWESOME

Brightness is, of course, irrelevant in standby.

If you're getting 6h of standby life something is seriously wrong.

very true, maybe hes playing music and other stuff?????

anyways for me the battery life has always been good, but i think its a bit better in OS 2.0

just make sure wifi sharing is set to off, that thing can be a killer, and turn off bluetooth and wifi if not in use, every electron counts

I tend to only get 5-6 hours of actual use. When I'm in stand by it can last about a day or so. When I had OS1 it would last seemingly forever on standby (and around 8-10 hours of actual use). The problem is with the native messaging (I think). It drains the battery like no business. They really need to get it sorted out before BB10 releases.

In your case you might have a bad battery, or maybe you just have a bunch of things running when you leave it on stand by.

I don't know about anybody else, but my PlayBook running the latest update compared to the previous, is about the same (no noticeable improvement).

I can join you in this. I've not noticed either up/downgrade of the battery life since 2.0.

for me leaving Wifi or BT/Bridge on is a battery hog.... on standby in these condition I would say 10h max. Far worse than Os1. The back of PB gets warm somehow.... huge battery loss if there is a network connection.

On standby with wifi and BT off, I get 8-9 days on standby/very little use.....

I really hope they will fix the connectivity issue in terms of battery life....

I did a clean wipe, no restore for OS2. I doubt its a settings issue because of that
