My answer is no. No tablet needs the hub, but OS10 would be nice in 2013.

The hub strikes me as an idea that is 20 years late, from the times when it was considered anything "online" was relevant. But nowadays we all have to separate important notifications from notifications that you can open later, when you have time.

Especially Twitter and Facebook, in 2013 they are exactly the sort of notifications that you should keep away from your professional mail.

One of the biggest features I want to see on the PlayBook is being able to connect to your pc through link like on the Z10 after 10.1. Then I can just leave my PlayBook attached to my TV and use my phone as a remote to access all the media from my pc through the PlayBook. Yesterday I sold 3 blackberries just by demoing that feature.

OS 2.1 Messages is a proto-Hub, so why wouldn't PB on BB10 have the full Hub?

This is a great question as I am sure most Z10 owners that also have Playbook have thought about it. Thanks to the Z10 Hub and outstanding keyboard/software, I have removed messaging from my Playbook and use it primarily for videos, streaming, internet, and music (plugged into powered speakers). I have no doubt I am different but I think the 7 inch screen is the perfect compromise for portability and view-ability. I take it everywhere and don't really like watching videos on the Z10. I need more apps on the Playbook than I do on the Z10. The Z10 is my communicator and the Playbook is my entertainer. I am just saying. So no to the hub on Playbook.

Why would the hub be such a resource hog? PlayBook already has all these messaging services running in the background. Plus, swipe down on a PlayBook and look at how the Settings menu drops down. Is that any different than peek? I think that the Hub should drop down on PlayBook as opposed to being on the side.
