I have tried using Desktop Manager and cfp, no luck.
With Desktop Manager, during the "Extracting Device Software" phase of the installation the PlayBook disconnects from the PC and I get this error:

An error has occurred while updating your device's software.
Unspecified error encountered [A:0x000000A2]

When I try to load the OS using cfp, It appears to load successfully, but when I try to power on the device I still get the 2 blinking red LED's. When I 'cfp info', it says the OS version is 2.8 instead of 2.1.

The PlayBook was working fine before I tried to wipe/reload.

Can anyone help me with this? I appreciate any efforts.

I know this isn't much but try a different cable on a different USB after rebooting your pc.

You may wanna give Dingleberry a try to load the OS image.

I have tried using both my home PC and my laptop, I got the same result on both computers.

DingleBerry won't work, as the OS has already been wiped, therefore DingleBerry can't recognize the device when it's plugged in.

I have searched through this forum for cfp guides and have tried everything I can think of. I cannot find anyone who has had a similar issue.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean unplug the PlayBook from the PC and try to start it? If so, yes, of course I have tried that.

have you tried using blackberry Link ? this software works on bb10 and os2.1
