Funny, I was just doing a lot of research to see if that was possible. Kinda iffy. Apparently the Z30 has USB-On-the-Go capabilities but the Z10 and Q10 don't so it is a hardware option. Not sure if PlayBook will have the capabilities.
PB has the hardware for OTG but isn't supported by its software. So if you really managed to run OS10 on your PB, the OTG might suddenly work (I'm not sure of this). But on the other hand, I'm also not sure if OS 10.0.xxxx have support for OTG because when the z30 came out, it came out having OS 10.1.xxxx as its OS already and maybe the OTG software came out at around that OS.

I'm not sure if I communicated myself well but I hope you understand what I was saying hehehe. Good luck! Keep us posted.

I believe the PB is OTG capable, but is disabled. Just as the my 4G LTE PlayBook has an NFC chip on the back, but it too is disabled. Oh what could have been...

Is there a way we can remove this file so it does not execute? I think you all know what I am getting at! If that is not there, then there is nothing for it to launch and should go right into the OS. Thoughts?

Stupid question, does the touch screen still work on the device / OS? What are you exactly stuck on? Selecting the wifi network? Typing?

    Another suggestion:
What if you shut down all wifi's within range? Will that skip the wifi selection process?

Touch screen works perfectly. Everything is sized to the screen too. Turned off my router, no other signal in area, unfortunately it will not bypass.

And for the record no question is stupid when we are doing this kind of work. LOL!

What exactly is preventing you from getting passed the wifi connection screen? Can't type? Won't connect?

    Sigh.. Alright, here we go.

These builds will "work" on the PlayBook:
    10.0.4.197
    10.0.6.386
    10.0.6.545
    10.0.6.671
    10.0.9.388

To get the 10.0.6 builds "working", you'll first need to flash 10.0.4, and then hit 'skip' and 'back' a bunch of times, very quickly during the initial setup to bypass it. Once you get it up and running, enable Developer Mode and use Dingleberry to flash 10.0.6.xxx. That should get you past the initial setup screen you're stuck on now.

10.0.9.388 is a completely different (and dangerous) process. I don't recommend flashing ANY of these builds on your PlayBook. Certain PlayBook apps won't work properly, and absolutely ZERO BB10 apps will work, since they all require 10.0.9 and higher. Even on 10.0.9.388, BB10 apps will not work properly.

DO NOT load any OS above 10.0.9.388 or your PlayBook will likely brick. I have one here from last year (2 years ago maybe?) that will only run these early 10.0 builds, since the device blocklist now prevents me from going back to 2.1. Any reference of PlayBook assets or resolution you see in any build between 10.0.9 and 10.3 are just leftover assets that were never removed.

For the record I have not used DDPB, nor Dingleberry to install. I used CFP after doing a complete wipe. I NUKE'd the device first using CFP, then WIPE'd it as well just to get a clean install. This is a FULL OS install, and not just the Winchester SDK file as has been done in the past.

Really don't know what the harm would be if BlackBerry were to "leak" a version of BB10 that was designed more like the one for the Z3. Even if we could only have three active frames.... I could live with that.

But the fact is the PlayBook is old and the CPU / GPU / Memory... they would all limit the experience and most likely make the PlayBook difficult to use . What we need is a new device with updated hardware!

I have tried the os you are currently running and I didn't get stuck at the wifi stage, I think I got stuck somewhere else but I can't quite remember anymore. Why don't you try reloading the os and see if that fixes your problem?

This is a very fine recap of all those threads we used to have.

I wish the OP luck, but I am almost sure he won't get much out of it. To think of it, do I want what we know as BB10 on my PB? Do I want to miss on beig able to open that crapload of apps and multitask like a king (I find Tabled OS beats BB10 on this)?

Just figure out how to get us the BB10 browser engine and app. Maybe BB10 Adobe Reader and Doc2Go. That would be enough to get at least 50% PlayBooks back into action.
