What month will BB10 come to the Playbook?

Will BB10 come to the Playbook first or BB Smartphones?

Hopefully, Playbook users can get a BB10 beta before the official release.

If I remember correctly, someone. From RIM said that BB10 will be available for PlayBook after BB10 phones launch.

I reckon the context of "launch" is clear from the previous paragraph of the quote where it mentions availability of gen-u-wine BB10 phones in Winter 2012. The quote goes on to say that BB10 on PB will be after that (launch).

While BB10 handsets might be shown or announced before then, they aren't "available" in any retail sense, so the "BB10 on PB" clock won't start ticking until you can actually buy a BB10 phone.

Despite much straw-clutching on these forums, the quoted "end of 2012" for available phones cannot be reasonably interpreted as August/September (I've even seen one mention of BB10 phones coming in July!).

So for BB10 on PB... oh, I'd say very late 2012, or maybe early 2013 is a likely timescale based on RIM's own words.

But, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here... if anyone wants to interpret "available towards the end of 2012" for BB10 phones as mid-Summer, or Q3, then go ahead.

Maybe you are not supposed to ask questions like these, because my thread got locked and was pointed to some beta bb 10 crap thread.

--Will BB10 be released at the same time when the BB 10 devices are out? (or will it be prior to that)
--Does later this year mean the OS will be released 2012 ( or is it just the devices )
--Lastly will the current playbook get BB 10 or will it be another hardware/tablet that will have it.

RIM confirmed (PlayBook will be updated to BB10 OS, promises RIM | The Verge) that the PB will get BB10 AFTER the release of the software for phones.
