Default 2.1 downgrade problems - Guess how big the file is then open

I updated to 2.1 the other day and now want to downgrade back to 2.0.1....... I followed the directions on RIM's web page by doing it via the desktop software. To my shock the file is huge, it seamed like it was going to take forever.

Would you believe the .bar file size is 1,022,775 KB

And then it signs the file and the new file is 1,585,089 KB

Well I had problems with the downgrade using desktop software and as it took over 60 min. I decided to downgrade via dingle 3.3.3 and it was fast and successful.

Check out the photos and I'm curious about the connecting to boot rom photo and is it possible to root the device with any of the files it downloaded during the downgrade attempt?
