I just loaded this on my Playbook.

I get the BB load screen and it goes to 100% but then restarts and tries again.

I don't think this is working but it is trying to load.

BB Link and BB Desktop Manager see the device as a BB10 device.

I'm not sure what else I can try to get this booting.

Which loading screen are you seeing? Is it the "BlackBerry PlayBook" loading screen with the changing colours, or is it the BB10 loading screen with the BlackBerry Logo?

If it's the BB10 loading screen, then this info is golden. If it's the PlayBook loading screen, false alarm.

Here is a little bit more information. I'll do a video and show what I see.

It loads the bb10 loading screen. The touchscreen works too. When you touch the screen the BlackBerry logo changes to show the percent loaded. But when it reaches 100%, it just hangs and sits there. It eventually reboots.

I downloaded the os with Sachup and installed the core files, not radio, with Sachibar. I used files from a stl100-1 from South Africa.

When I attach the PlayBook to BlackBerry Link, it sees it but shows an exclamation point. I get an option to reinstall the os.That process does not complete. The PlayBook loses its connection.

When I attach it to BlackBerry desktop it says that I am running a bb10 device. But, if I attach the pb on a reboot, I get a recovery option.

I would not recommend that you try this. I tried using BlackBerry Desktop to reinstall 2.1 and it did not complete. I don't think the PlayBook is bricked but I'm not sure how to fix it at this point. I need to find a PlayBook Autoloader, I think.

I really don't care because I have two PlayBooks and PlayBook is probably dead anyway.

One other thing that I thought of trying is creating an autoloader with just the core files. Can this be done? How?

When I attach the PlayBook to either Link or Desktop Manager it is asking me for my password. Maybe you can't upgrade and have to do a clean install? Maybe my PlayBook settings are preventing a full load?

It's worth a shot but I won't be able to try until late tonight est. I just got to work.

hey tonight or next week you seem to be putting more work into this than Blackberry is. I have a hunch that BB10.2 will be able to jump over this 100% bootload hang.

my expert deductive reasoning leads me to believe that the z10 started with bb10, the q10 started with 10.1. and 10.2 will be the thrid screen size that the jam 10 session speaks about as the 10.2 sdk was talked about yesterdah at bb live.

I have two theories on the matter that 10.2 could be designed for tablets even the playbook, sure.

but it could also be designed for the rumoured aristo, a phablet with a tablet esq interface much like hybrid mode in the paranoid android custom rom ....if your not famillier with it hybrid merges the best of a phone and tablet inteface and modifies the dpi settings on screen to make it all fit proper.

let me know what you think.

Keep trying! So close, but so far away!

I know when I loaded up 10.1 on my Z10 for the first time, it hung at 100% for a good 5 minutes before progressing through. I think I even did a battery pull the first time because I thought it had frozen. Maybe when it gets to 100%, do a 10 second hold on the power button of the PlayBook and then let it reboot after that. Might be like the equivalent of the battery pull I did with my Z10.

Too easy though... can't see it working haha

Those won't work. The PlayBook has an OMAP processor and so does the stl100-1. The others are all Snapdragons. It is stl100-1 or nothing, at least at this point.

I tried stuff like that a bunch of times. The first load after install was very slow. Each other one is quick. It seems like it is trying to load.

I think the autoloader is our best hope at the moment. I've got to figure out how to do that though.

I think the the os already knows that it is on a PlayBook. See how the BlackBerry symbol is in landscape, not portrait? It knows!

great point, but what I was getting at is everything may be in place for bb10 on playbook on 10.1, there just migjt be moduals missing needed to complete the boot sequence. I think bb10.1 is more than capiable of running on the playbook.
