No. This device does not offer enough to warrant a $499 pricetag. It didnt on release and it doesnt now.... Except maybe the 64 gig version and then it is simply because it offers so much storage space.

One of the main reasons I bought the PlayBook was the 199.00 price. My laptop died and I'm trying to figure out what to buy, so I got the PlayBook to tide me over. Been a month now and still no laptop love the PlayBook!! The touch screen has a bit of a learning curve for my fat fingers I can see the mini keyboard/case in my future. But not sure if I would pull the trigger on 500 clans,flood the market with devices for 199. I went 3 bestbuys before I found my PlayBook??????

na I only got the playbook because it was so cheap. Couldn't refuse that price
Im worried about pb 2 / 4g since so much of the tablets success has come from its price reduction will RIM leave the price at 199? - 05-07-2012, 09:34 AM #81 nope I think there gonna charge full price again for the 4g PlayBook if it has any new specs our fetures than maybe ill pay but tech is evoling so fast who Nos what will be out by the time it drops
