I just tried to back my Playbook up using desktop manager like i have several times before. I normally try to do a backup every 2-3weeks. This time my playbook shows up on manager screen (32g playbook, serial number, etc.) i click the backup button and it constantly tries to talk to it, then eventually says could not connect to Playbook please make sure the device is turned on. On the playbook display it shows the communication icons hooked up to a pc. This is the first time i have ever had this happen and never seen it before.

Any suggestions out there?

it's a very common issue and there are several threads on this.

try it without backing up your apps.

I have tried doing it without the apps, still says make sure devive is turned on. If the playbook will connect to the desktop manager it will not allow the backup/sync functions.
