In the OS2 demos there was mention that activesync will be used for the native email. If you are just using a pop email service from an internet provider, will we be able to setup this email on the PlayBook. In other words, will the setup be similar to the phones and the RIM servers will provide the activesync connection to our pop emails?

I took a quick look at my email providers support site and pop or webmail seems to be the only option for getting the email. There was no mention of activesync. Will RIM be able to pop our email and then send it to us from an activesync server provided by RIM?

Kevin had his gmail account set up on it. I think POP will work.

I don't think gmail is pop or may have other options than pop.

I don't know why it wouldn't. Been around a long time.

Yes gmail can be pop or imap. Neither has anything to with activesync.

POP3 and IMAP are supposed to be available options. No doubt there will be limitations with those (at least POP3) compared to the full ActiveSync experience.
