Why is there not. BBM on playbook?

Yes sure u pair a BB phone u can use BBM on u phone, but why not BBM on playbook for non BB owners?

Main reason beijng is BBM is set up for use on a cellular network not WIFI.... as the majority of your Playbooks are only WIFI... no BBM for Playbook....

BlackBerry Messenger can, and will work over WiFi.

Because the PlayBook was a half baked product rushed to release to the market (truth hurts). Unfortunately it's taken 2+ years to get to the point where BB 10 will rescue it and THEN you'll finally get your wish...

It's not going to be available on a non-cell device until RIM has the ability to offer it as a subscription. With your BB phone service you send RIM 3-4 dollars a month for BBM.

I have the LTE version only out since aug 2012, i got it in Dec.

I have a shared 5gb mobile data plan and of course a Sim card with telephone number attached to it, so why no BBM on playbooks that can utilize it.

Of course i use wifi mostly, but when i am out i use my shared mobile data plan.

I use my samsung galaxy s3 when i am out too which ever i get my hands on first.

I can call out on my playbook over wifi with ephone and it is awesome.

I have a BIS plan still cause i always kept it since having my bold 9000 which my son uses still as a backup phone, so why no BBM on playbook if ppl have a BIS plan and mobile data, plus wifi?

I sure hope that is true.

Again i can text anywhere in the world for free and nationwide too, but BBM is cool too.

I am just wondering why no BBM on playbook when ppl have the means and plans to do so.

I use BBM on my PlayBook all the time....I also can send text messages (SMS) with easy...don't know what the big deal is. There is a reason they call it BlackBerry Bridge....

Umm did you read my first post and last post lol

What about ppl with BIS plans and have mobile shared data plans with PB, but have no BB phone and have wifi and mobile version of the PB.

I read your post...but why by a monster truck to drive back and forth to work on the freeway...the PlayBook has flaws, and many at that especially when it comes to people who cannot pair it with their current device for whatever reason. If the design of the PlayBook (or any thing you have an option to purchase) is not right for you, don't buy it. It isn't RIM's fault, they designed it for a specific user...nothing more...yes it had much higher hopes, most of which were released in rumors that were never backup by facts.

For one i am not complaining never was, but asking as to why bbm is not on the PB for those who don't have a bb phone to use, but are capable of utilizing bbm on the PB.

Like i said i can text anywhere in the world for free and nationwide as well i live in canada, bbm on the pb would just be a nice option is all for many ppl, but for me i text where ever i want Free.
