I've noticed that songs that cost 99 cents on Amazon MP3 are typically $1.29 on Playbook Music. Are the PB versions at a higher bit-rate or sound quality or is it just some arbitrary price difference?

IOW's, why buy from PB instead of Amazon?

The 7-Digital Music Service offers DRM-free content which can be synchronized on up to 5 devices. I have found the playback quality of the music to be excellent.

Amazon also offers DRM free music, and can be transferred to unlimited devices.

Probably because Amazon is big enough to be supported by the industries and by extension can afford to sell for less to be more competitive.
