So I've been rocking my new playbook I got for Christmas and am loving every minute of it, but one thing is hugely annoying......where is the twitter app? Am I missing something? I really hate having to log into the website shortcut they provide and I refuse to pay for a third party app for a free service. Twitter on my torch is awesome and probably one of my most used apps so I'm hugly disappointed that there isn't one for my playbook. Anyone have some suggestions on where I can get a free app or insight as to when we are getting the real deal?

It won't come until BlackBerry 10. However, I've sideloaded the Android Twitter app and it works quite well.

You'll need to learn how to sideload apps on PlayBook and then find the Twitter .bar file in order to sideload it.

Yeah......that's probably beyond my technical abilities but thanks for the reply. It shocks that the playbook has been around for years and they never got an official app for it since the one for the phones works so well. Guess they've had other priorities of late.

If you want a free application try Tweedless or Lemma. Blaq which was mentioned is an excellent paid application. Sadly not everything in life is free, not even in support of a free service. Also remember free does not always mean good.

Don't waste your money on blaq till they release native code for bb10 and the playbook.

I downloaded seemsic from appworld last week. Free android port.

I use SociaScope and the Android twitter apps....both sideloaded but work great!

Don't think I'm quite ready or the sideload thing. One of you mentioned one from app world that was an android port....seemsic?.....that's a twitter app...is it free. I realize not everything life is free, but prefer to save my app budget for services that aren't free to begin with. It doesn't kill me to have to log in every time it's just annoying.

Best free is Lemma. Best paid is Blaq (imo). I agree that it's disturbing that there isn't a native Twitter app. It's even more disturbing to me that the Facebook app is so horrible. I'm hoping that os10 addresses both issues and I believe it will.

For me the best paid one is BlackBird for PlayBook and as for free I like Lemma for PlayBook as well

I agree the Facebook on this is not great...no profile pics show.....you'd think they would have done better with tow of the biggest apps going. How long after bb10 gets launched will we see the upgrade for playbook I wonder.

Pretty pathetic that you have to use another platforms Twitter app. It's Twitter for crying out loud!!
