Where is 2.1?
I thought we were supposed to get the OS 2.1 by the end of June.
Anyone know when it's supposed to be available? Not just the beta. - 07-06-2012, 12:15 AM #2
Nope. Target window was July.

On RIM'S updated roadmap, playbook 4G is pushed back to Q4. But I checked with someone at Bell the answer it is still scheduled this month. So now I don't know which one is correct. Hopefully we can get it this month. The 4g comes with os 2.1

You aren't alone.
This is rediculous. Late late late delay delay delay... I totally believe that rim's stock plunging another couple of points per share is because wall street is saying "you have proved finally that you are insolvent and headed toward closing your doors." Two points doesn't sound like much and if its a drop from $90-$88 or $60-$58 then it isn't... But $9.5-$7.5 is a 12% drop and that is BIG.
This was yet another fail on RIM execution, the very thing that consumers and investors are sick and tired of. While this time around RIM didn't try lying again about chipset supplies. The decision to cancel all vacation and make programmers work non stop around the calendar until bb10 is released proves that they KNOW this is a problem on RIM's side. Quite frankly, you have to ask yourself whether RIM is simply competant to do the job anymore.
Another frigg'n delay? I mean really??? - 07-06-2012, 03:01 PM #20
It's apparently only a 2 month delay, and it's significant that we heard about it this early. Remember the announcement of the ONE YEAR delay? That came within a couple of weeks of the date we expected an introduction.
There's a huge difference between the delay announced last week and the multiple delays announced last year: last year they were in panic mode.
Thorsten has been much more forthcoming than his predecessors. Targets have generally been met (except for the 4G Playbook and I suspect this may be due to market factors rather than technical ones). All of the releases they said they'd make, they've made on time so far this year. BB10 is the first thing to be pushed back, and it's only 1 quarter (i.e., 2-3 months). - 07-06-2012, 05:38 PM #22

I don't know when this will be released but for the love all that is holy can we do something with the browser speed? Hate to beat a dead horse but this browser is very slow.
Anyone know where I can find rumors in the Crackberry forum about the features we may say in a minor update? - 07-07-2012, 03:35 AM #24

The current OS is buggy. Hope 2.1 fixes the basic problems like hanging, browser issues and some problems with wifi.will we get BB10 10 upgrade too or is it for the new devices
Is current hardware enough for BB10.I think now we are seeing 1.5ghz as standard. Ram 1 gb is fine I think.
