I know. I don't know how you could have made it any easier to see. Think you might just have to cut your losses to save your sanity. I'd just like to know why he feels the need to defend jonathank. Almost feels like one of those conversations where someone refers to themself in third person.

Barskin: you are way more patient than I am... LOL.

@Barskin - Nothing you say will change their mind, it will all be twisted, so why waste any more of your energy? You've tried already. Meanwhile, go and read the links about Apples 25th billionth app download further in this thread. Yet some believe that "apps are a thing of the past." Somehow I don't think so - even taking into account the useless ones.

Seriously folks we are 20 pages into this thread, people have their own opinion, no one is changing anyone's mind and serious discussion has long since bitten the dust, anybody know any good knock knock jokes?Ain't no rocket scientists in the fire hall

There's nothing to change in my mind. All Barskin has done is sit around and waited for the chance to keep poking at jonathank. I'm defending him. I was trying to sbow barskin that jonathan isn't saying no more apps to be written etc etc.barskin isn't trying to make a point but rather beat an apology out of jonathank. Which none is due.
Why don't people get it. The PB is a work in progress. If the app of choice isn't here yet you have to wait for it to get here. Its not Rims fault that somebody hasn't written the app for you yet. - 04-21-2012, 09:37 PM #312

Thi is an example of what I'm talking about. You quoted me, but your reply had nothing to do with what I was saying. I had asked someone what was I missing in there post cause just about everything they said was on the PB. With the kindle not being avaible but kobo works very good.
You wanted to make sure I knew you was unhappy about the apps you want but can't get. - 04-21-2012, 11:03 PM #316
So, a horse walks into a bar...

I hope you all are taking an equal portion of this debate (read fight) to the people (devs or companies that hire devs) that are capable of making the apps you want. Arguing on this forum isn't going to get those apps for you.Nothing is so common as is the goal to be remarkable - 04-21-2012, 11:18 PM #317

Well, I am hoping that the people who run the CrackBerry forum talk to people at RIM. I don't know developers, and it's not my job to seek them out. I don't think the lack of applications available for the PB is something RIM is unaware of. I mean, we even have the reports that "Cascades will fix everything, and we'll be rollin' in apps!" Right now - and I am sad to say this because I have been very enthusiastic about the PB - I would not recommend this device to anyone else, knowing how much is available on other platfoms.

Yup - I agree with all of that.
I would be surprised (to the point of astonishment) if RIM & CrackberryKevin weren't in regular contact and RIM must be aware of both the forum "mood" and the specific issues that remain with PB.
I guess we'll see if Cascades is a magnet for Devs as its release seems imminent given the number of sessions planned for JAM. Having a API available to Devs that would ease the UI development may indeed increase the number, and pace, of App development.
I'm in the "Apps are Vital" camp myself, and have long since stopped recommending PB to folk I meet. After a while, answering the inevitable "Neat browser!... So, where's the Kindle/Skype/etc/etc App on this baby?" questions with "PB hasn't got that App, but it might be coming one day" gets kind of depressing for me as I see the interest fade in their eyes... so I no longer bother.
A neat form-factor and lovely hardware don't cut it for the friends I meet... they want Apps, and I have to agree with them.
Though, I'm expecting some on this forum to demand that I get better friends able to appreciate an App-less PB! LOLProud Member of the PlayBook Beta Test Team (Since June 2011)Thanked by:bodjor (04-22-2012)

Well, it looks as if there is more than one tent in this here “apps are vital” camp. I am not relying on Kevin to talk to RIM or Rim to read these hostile threads just to find out that person A needs these 10 apps, person B needs these 6 and person C needs a steady stream of different apps because they just like something new regularly. IMO, this will take us to one place and one place only…
We need every single app RIM and step on it. Oh and the really diehard people want apps that no other platform has just so they can show off the superiority of this device.
Me, I am letting these people know I want what the other platforms have. I am visiting the support sites and requesting they give me an app for my PB. And if it comes, I am not thanking Thor, Kevin or Alec; I am giving myself a little pat on the back. I am not saying that these guys cannot get us what we need; I am just saying that too many people want altogether different things and passing that on to RIM only gets them what they already know.Nothing is so common as is the goal to be remarkable - 04-22-2012, 06:53 AM #322Ain't no rocket scientists in the fire hall
