Hey, all...I did a search and came across a bunch of warranty experience threads, but I'd like an answer to this question...if I receive a new PB as a gift, or purchase one privately that hasn't been used yet...does the warranty period begin from the date of purchase or the date of activation?

The reason I ask is that some people get the PB as a gift or a prize somewhere, and they don't want it and sell it or give it away.

I am only talking about legit units, mind you...not stuff that "fell off a truck"...

All I know is that they ask you for the serial number, don't know what shows up at their end

I bought a PB and never unboxed it for 4 months. I finally opened it up and registered. I had full warranty from that date.
