hi everyone,
have just security wiped my PlayBook to (hopefully) get rid of an annoying download failure notification (words with friends Android update failure) and all the wallpapers seem to have vanished? am hoping nothing else has been 'wiped' as well!
any ideas?

For some reason Rim/bb treats both the wallpapes and the demo video as USER data and a Security Wipe removes them like all other data.

The Debrick procedure which reloads the OS from scratch restores those items, I believe.

Plus there is no need to wipe to get rid of the download failure notification. It takes about 30 seconds to get rid of it. The stock wallpapers and demo video are available for download. Just search the forum- no need to debrick.

HEHEH,,, & here i thought they eliminated them w/ last update 'cuz i did a wipe pre-install,,, well @ least i know how to get rid of 'em now...

hi again everyone - seems they are gone fofever then, along with a few previous downloads, although oddly enough, most appear to have been saved within the deleted apps section of App World!
the issue with the recurring download error notifications had bden plagueing me for about a month tbh, and I had tried hard re sets, deleting the app and all associated files etc using ghost commander etc, all to know avail!
never mind, the standard blue background is ok I guess!
