And by "no......................" he means "the PlayBook does not support USB OTG just yet, so plugging USB devices does not work. Such feature can be unlocked by rooting the device, which cannot be done if you are running latest software."

With root, it can be done right now. Without, you'll have to wait for BB10.

Once USB on the go is enabled this will likely be possible, for now unfortunately this isn't happening without root, as mentioned above.
