If you just purchased the Playbook register it for 90 day complimentary support and get a ticket number and call 1-877-644-8410 for the US.

Could be your router or supplier. Try rebooting back to server and reconnecting back to router in that order allowing restart time at each step. Try another wifi device to see if it can log on. Go to another wifi system if you can and see if that works.

Bought a used playbook today, already have one but my son cracked the screen. Did a security wipe and proceeded to setup only to be stuck in this nasty circle from wireless setup to cannot connect to update server 65792. Cannot connect to DT as it tells me the setup is not complete. Is the server down or is it something im doing?

From best case to worst case scenarios:

They have intentionally taken the servers down to release some sort of an update

There is some sort of technical glitch causing this

They have cut access of the playbook to the servers as part of end of life

The longer they stay down the less likely #1 becomes and the more likely #3 becomes. I hope it's not #3...if so there are going to be sure lot of people selling bricks on ebay...

They can't just take down the server as given the OS that bricks every playbook you attempt to restore! That would be a error ever Blackberry couldn't make. I did a security wipe on mine and it's in server down mode. The idea that they'd let you just brick your Playbook is unimaginable.

They have just released a new update for Playbook 3g today. Maybe this glitch is linked to the maintenance activities?

Playbooks won't be bricked. In the worst case scenario, there is still a .1753 autoloader floating around.

Could they be using the server cover the load for the 10.2 update tomorrow?

Although even with the autoloader (if I can find one) it will check for updates after installing, fail to find the server and be stuck unusable again, won't it?

No, it will give you the option of checking later, and you might only have the browser and have to sideload the other native apps

And me too, Sea. I get the feeling it's the final shaft.

How do we get this update if the servers are down? I tried it with a SIM in the PlayBook and over cellular, but still the same error.

Cellular updates get pushed from the carriers, not Blackberry.

I guess I was asking how he knew of the update and perhaps more details. I used a Rogers SIM and got the same update server error.

It's possible they took the server down to reroute resources for tomorrow's 10.2.1 OS release for BB10 devices.

We're not likely to see anything new with the BlackBerry PlayBook, though one can hope.

That is referring to 1753, which we have had on the wifi and 4G/LTE for a while. I hoped it was a newer OS.
