The latest playbook update will be

On June 13 ( given it’s a Tuesday)
Around June 19 ( 60 days from launch date)
After June 21 (official start of Summer)
Some random day in July
Around Aug 18 ( 3rdr anniversary of RIMM named fastest growing company in the world LMAO)
Before or on Sep 22 (it’s technically still Summer and RIM always meet their deadlines LOL)
On Sep 27 (1 year of playbook announcement)

I am expecting june 11 or 12 update, I am using playbook without problem, so an update is not what I am looking for, What I only want is Yahoo messenger or MSN. I bought playbook for games, office works, web browsing and video chat. I can't use the native video chat because My friends still don't have Playbook.

Surprising...that overwhelmingly 2/3 of the sample size albeit small indicates people are expecting an update within the next 2-3 weeks....

I think it over 6 months to introduce the a major update (multi tasking, printing etc) after the IPAD release, and given how slow RIM is, I think we are in for a big demolition of our expectation of an update within 60 days release of the playbook.

Update is coming FOR SURE in the next 3 weeks.
Why would I say such a thing?

Playbook is released internationally on June 18th. Currently PB does not support multiple languages which is necessary for an international launch.

So there will be SOME FORM of an update before the launch for international markets. What else will come with this update is up in the air, but I do expect some enhancements to take place.

Pb is already launched international..middle east countries. Europe will come after that. So there ia no real strong reason why would they call europe release international. China and indonesia comes later in august.
The way its happening now, updates will come later..all the promises are not convincing anymore, rim been ridiculed by investors, and sure keep silent as usual, sulking and angry..so at least we got september or october to hope for. Before christmas.

I'll bet that there will be an update prior to the European launch. Europe is massive for RIM, far bigger then the mideast.

Yep im thinking the same, the Euro or UK release is 16th june so im reckoning that around about that time there will be an update...to be fair im not that bothered about an update especially if its a small incremental update as my pb is good as gold, havent had any issues with it etc but if the update includes missing features or new features then ill be very happy indeed.
