Mainline Digital launches BlackBerry PlayBook promotion
Everything Everywhere distributor Mainline Digital Communications has launched a BlackBerry promotion for dealers, running until 31 December. Available on both Orange and T-Mobile, the 16 PlayBook is available for £199, the 32 GB model for £259 and the 64 GB model for £319 (all excluding VAT). This is £130 off the cost of a new PlayBook.

maybe, but do the maths on it and youll find it`ll cost ya more than $200 to import it.
device $199 + sales tax, we`ll call that $215
usps 7-10 day delivery to uk - $50
UK HRMC tax, its about £40 on that.
so $265 x 0.6 (roughly the exchange rate) + £40 tax fee would be.........£199

This really sucks!
I have money in hand ready to spend on a new PB, however I refuse
To spend when I know how much they sell for in the states!
The way I see it! RIM owe me for having to put up with this lame 9900 with its half a day battery.
I want a PB and I want to stay with BB, but there not making it easy for me.
The longer I wait the more alternative tablet reveiws I read and the better they look.
Come on RIM, get it sorted out or you loose out!

well, as i demonstrated, a $200 one would cost you £200 anyways, which is pretty much what new ones can be found for in the UK.
is £200 too much? what else would £200 buy you from the tech world, purely for balance:
half an iPad2 (sorry, had to lol)
a BB 9300 box only
2/3 of a EeePad transformer (and thats not even the new version)
basically nothing at a comparable pricepoint.

said from the country that has telus offering a 9900 on a THREE YEAR!!!!! plan for min $50 a month and $170 upfront lol (worth noting for a direct comparison its $530 on a 2yr, but thats even worse than a 3 year contract....kinda).
comparatively, ya can get it FREE on a £30 ($50 apx) plan over 2 years in the UK. lifes all give an take.
