    Hi,

    I was just wondering if this was true.
    If so, does that mean a PB will be able to video chat via upcoming BBM for iOS devices?

    Yes it is, because I have done this.

    Absolutely no comment from me on the iOs situation though, as I have no idea. I'm sure someone will chip in though! Xx

    Why not ,actually PB may not be bb10 enabled,buy it will surely have this video chat function for sure.

    I have an iPhone and if the BBM can video chat from an iPhone to a PB, then I will give my aging PB to my Mum, who'll be fine with its limitations and be able to video chat with her using BBM.

    Yes, a BB10 device can video chat with a Playbook.
    No, an iPhone won't be able to video chat via BBM with a Playbook -- yet. BBM for iOS won't have BBM video capability at launch. When it does become available, then they should be able to video chat.

    You can do a video call to the BB10 phone from your playbook but not the other way around.
    Without native BBm on the Playbook, I can't see how BBM video chat can work with any other device.

    The Playbook has a Video Chat app. It does allow calling to a BB 10 device. My son has "called" me from Playbook to my Z10.

    I was expecting BBM to work on iPad wi-Fi. It doesn't, cellular iPads only. Ios apps work on all ios devices, except for bbry apps of course.

    Not yet you can't, there is NO video option for IOS or Android..

    Yes, I can. But not from within BBM. Under Contacts in BB10, there is a field for "PlayBook Video Chat". That allows you to initiate a video call to a PlayBook, assuming that person is online.

    You can call it back from the hub notification, but can't call unless they called you first, and not from BBM.

    Are you positive? Every time I try it, the z10 shows its trying to make the call but the playbook never rings.

    This is my experience too. Can place video calls TO a BB10 device from my Playbook, but never receive any notification on the Playbook when trying to place a call from a BB10 device.

    Here's a sample contact from my list. As you can see, the PB video chat is green = available. I've "called" this one a number of times.

    very true...because i use the same BBID on my PB and Z10...if i'm in a wifi area and i get a BBM video call, both devices ring and i can answer on either of them

    Yes, works great. If you have a BB10 phone AND Playbook it will show up in the contact as being able to select between which video chat you want to initiate.
