Default Trouble with mp4 video on my PB

So i found, via google search a way to "download" video directly from my
PB with a site called File2HD.com. You copy the youtube page URL & paste it into file2hd's page then search for the files. So when the search brings up a couple video formated URLs, you highlight it and save link as... I make sure to choose the mp4 file and i make sure to type in the mp4 extension when i save it.

When i find it in Air Browser, the icon is that of a video, but when i open it, it goes to the video app, but it then says the file is unsupported. I have other mp4 videos on my PB that i loaded from my computer, and they work. Why won't these videos work?

I went to that site and saved a you tube video with it, and it opened in the native video player with no problem. Why you're having problems, I don't know. You shouldn't have to add the file extension mp4 since it should already be there. If it's not, you may be downloading the wrong file.
FWIW, if you want to download youtube vids, there is an android app that can be sideloaded called tubemate that is much easier to use.

Try renaming the file? Some of the apps have trouble with spaces and/or special symbols or commas, etc in a filename.

The audio file might not be supported or the the files could be corrupted.

Hhmmm, ya i have tried several videos, and none have worked. I had to rename it because when i clicked save as, the name came up as "untitled.html". I tried converting the flv files, but that didnt work. I have downloaded pictures though.

Well, i may keep trying, but i did get the bar file for tubemate. I just figured out how to sideload yesterday (i have nintendo on my pb now ).

    Thanks for your help guys.

If you're downloading "untitled.html", then you're downloading the wrong file. Before clicking 'Get files" on File2HD.com, check the "Movies" box under filters. The results you get should all have extensions of either mp4 or flv.

I do click "movie", I select the MP4 file, click save file as. When the save menu comes up the name of the file is untitled.html. I know I need a MP4 file so I tried renaming it. Didn't work. Thanks though. I guess I can just download it on my pc and transfer.

Is there links for.flv that have a convert tab at the end then a .Mp4 without the tab? ^^
Also you shouldn't have to rename anything it should already have the file extension mp4.

I just d/l a video and only 4 choices of formats showed up lo ,med and hi quality Flv and one mp4
You may be copying the wrong url. I copy from the address bar of the actual video while it's playing.hope this helps

Sounds like you are downloading a web page not actual video file. This may be the page you get just before the actual download link (like a redirect or download mirror selection page). Often video sites do this to prevent direct links from being simply copied and posted on other sites where people can just download directly, as the site likely relies on ad revenues and wants you to see their ad banners so creates download links dynamically.

Haha, i got one. I was trying to download music videos before. Perhaps there is something about them. I was doing it exactly right as everyone suggested. I suppose it was just a big coincidence that the several vids i tried didnt work.

I dont know why the other vids came up as untitled.html? At least i know i was doing it right

I've experienced this.. The native video player doesn't support a lot of formats.. Not even videos taken with my 9900..

Sideload es file explorer, open the video using it. Esfe will the native app and give 2 options, chose either of the other options and the video will play (in the android player)

I've only tested using esfe, but it might work with any android file manager

Edit: nvm just read the part about the "untitled.html"
I don't think what I said above applies to you
