I ordered 2 16g units on friday afternoon on separate orders (found a code for $10 off and got a second one). This moning I got 2 emails acknowledging the orders and informing that due to the demand, shipping may take 4-6 days. Received one this afternoon via fedex international prority that was sent monday from the US to Canada. Hoping the second one comes tomorrow.

I have not gotten that email. If you are ordering the 32GB or 64GB playbook, I would go ahead and order from Amazon as they will ship MUCH faster and are the same price. Also, you can get the 64GB for $330 on ebay, brand new. I'm sure the deals for 32 and 16 are great as well.

I would rest assured that if you order from RIM via their site here ... you will get the Playbook!! and have a contact site in case of problems ...

So far the only "additional" email I received from RIM/BlackBerry anything has been a survey. I have yet toi take it, but rest assured, that if my order gets cancelled, it will NOT be a good review!

FYI, when you order over and during an extended holiday weekend, paying for overnight or 2 day delivery is foolish; nobody is home, and won't be until the first business day, at which time, they will deliver it per your chosen delivery method starting from that date. So, if you ordered Thanksgiving evening from Blackberry, or any other reputable site and paid extra for overnight deliver, that means you will probably have gotten it the following Tuesday.
P.S. My 3 PB's I ordered from BB will deliver tomorrow via Fed Ex per the tracking number(s). - 11-30-2011, 06:52 AM #92

I have also had my PB accesory order cancelled because it's been deemed "high risk". What does this mean? I'm a Canadian ordering from the Canadian site.
I also placed a separate order for a PB - this still shows "received" but I'm mentally prepared to receive the cancellation note at any moment.
I'm going to try phoning this morning, but I have no hopes of actually reaching anyone.Last edited by chriskayTO; 11-30-2011 at 07:07 AM.

Were these cancellations maybe caused by the $10 promo code? It seemed that everyone were using the same code that has been spreading around the forum. I don't know, I'm just saying

I had ordered 2x 16gb and also recieved the "high risk" cancellation. Couldn't get through to any of the numbers listed on the shopblackberry site.
From the "Help" page on ca.shopblackberry.com:
" 1-201-751-6799, 1-866-957-0761 (toll-free), or 31 411 617 750 between 8am and 8pm EST." The 1866 number is essentially dead, and the other 2 are not in service. "Globalware Solutions" runs the purchasing site for RIM and by this account seems to be a bit of a fly-by-night operation. RIM should be concerned at what this company is doing to its already tarnished reputation. First they can't sell the PB, now they can't competently take orders??? As an aside, someone out of business school could do a better job finding a proper price point.
I suspect GS was cancelling orders just to get down to available inventory. Another thing that should make RIM livid. I did manage to get someone at RIM in Waterloo who is now following this up for me with GS. Suggest you try this route - they need to hear about the laughable state of affairs with the GS procurement site.
Speculation from the fellow at RIM was that the order may have been deemed high risk because the shipping address didn't match the address on record with my credit card company (shipping to my office).... sounds reasonable, but to unilaterally cancel without verification or follow up? Mickey Mouse anyone? p.s. I didn't use any promo code. - 11-30-2011, 11:59 AM #98

RIM hasn't collected the funds after three business days so I got my money back BUT it's still authorized at the banks end so RIM needs to ship my PB and collect their money pronto. I was a bit concerned (I still am) when I saw I got my money back. I just hope they don't cancel my order because I will be one ticked off customer. All my information, like address, match my bank account so there's no need for them to cancel it. They need to get with the program, in this case Global Solutions.
