I used one for exercise videos for the wife for the longest time. One I use as emulator for traveling and playing PS and Nintendo games with Videos as well.

Music (Neutron). Video, also via HDMI cable. Occasional reading and Youtube videos playing (in browser).
Video camera - especially when I need good sound as recording street musicians, for example.

If you have a few in storage, I trust that where they are is not damp or musty. I suggest activating those 3 to be sure that the batteries will charge, then update to the newest version of the OS in case you want to use or sell any of them.
The boxes are factory sealed and the basement is dry in the separate laundry / furnace room. I keep all my spare electronics on shelves in this room to avoid moisture related issues.

I wish BlackBerry had not abandoned the BlackBerry PlayBook because after 6 years it is a viable hardware product but in need of updated software for the operating system and connectivity with BlackBerry Android smartphones.

An amazing reader! I recommend kobo books! The library has a great collection. I am now reading on the origin of species. It was free! I got Frankenstein, Dracula, Macbeth, and much more...i love the design and layout and functions of that app. It's so smooth and refined, the display is amazing. And it bookmarks your page, it's so cool.

If youre like me, you would also make use of adobe reader! The playbook is the perfect pdf viewer. blackberry did good, at being the best at very specific things. This is the ideal device that I want, it's so ahead of the curb although it debut was in 2011. I wouldn't know what to do with an ipad. This is a very productive device & its built with such high quality. I really get what they mean by that now. It's the only ever, professional tablet.

Nice! I really feel they update OS for performance improvements and browser! Browser is too laggy and doesn't support new technologies.

Otherwise, I've got a question. Pertaining to the new blackberry mobile phones that are coming out now that are not running bb10 software? Will they still be able to bridge to their playbook?

  8. don_poky's Avatar
They run on Android OS. No more bridging.

Since I don't have a smart phone, my Playbook + my iMac desktop work perfectly together. With the mini USB to USB cable + the Blackberry Desktop Software, I am able to transfer my text + media files from my iMac to the Playbook very easily. Also after installing Google Chrome on my iMac, with the Playbook App Manager extension, I am able to install any compatible .Bar file onto the Playbook, many of them work fine on the Playbook.

Is it technically possible to use Playbook as an external / additional screen of BlackBerry 10 rather than connecting them by bridge app?

Not possible with a BB10 device. It is possible to do with a Windows PC using the Splashtop app.

I use my Playbook for work emails when traveling with the blackberry keyboard, then I don't have haul out my laptop. The typing action on the keyboard is fantastic. I also use the stock app which updates every one minute. Found that to be an excellent tool. Plus, of course the calendar works good.
So strictly for business use for me.

Hey Don_Poky, I am enjoying my Playbooks more now than when I initially got my 19gb. I recently got a 32gb 4G LTE PB. The 50% faster processor + I mainly use it with the BB Rapid Charger + the 50meg. service I get from my ISP makes the PB a whole new experience. I also have the BB Mini KB + the BB Mini Stereo Speaker so my system is optimal both for my 32 + 64gb Playbooks.

I use my Playbook as a work companion. I have my work email/calendar linked into it and whenever I leave my desk, instead of undocking my laptop, I take my Playbook with me. It's been great to check back on emails for reference and the calendar works great too. It handles some simple browsing. It's a lot more convenient to lug around on the fly around my office than my laptop and is perfect for meetings.

Any *ahem* sources you could recommend that work well on the PB?
