My online and local had them for $50 off last week ("new low price" )then raised the price just before this sale. This is Massachusetts- anyone seeing a different Staples price here?

I think that at $299 for the 16gb puts the PB in a very competitive price range. Acer A100 16gb is $349 with similar specs but very poor screen. Galaxy tab 7 is $299 but now has dated specs compare to PB. Plus you get the beauty of QNX OS. The playbook for the specs it has it should have been priced at around $349 originally. Think RIM trying to charge $499 was a little too much for a 7" tablet. I'm sure if Playbook was $299 this whole time they would have sold double, if not triple more than the 500k units they sold at first. Charging $499 at first was keeping them away from a lot of peoples reach, specially that's already at the Ipad price. The Ipad has already a huge following and its a huge competition for it, why market against it? The new prices will attract a lot of more buyers and when 2.0 comes out the PB will be better than ever.
Appreciate the post. I bopped on over and bought a 16 gig, thats all they had. The 32 and 64 you have to purchase on line. Now I have a 16, 32, and 64. Loving it.

just checked staples in allston - 350 in store. 100 rebate
Staples employees get an additional 50 dollars off and there 10 % employee discount. So if you know an employee, it comes to like 180, just grabbed a second one for my wife.
I ordered online for $299 and am picking it up in the store. I'm going to insist that they give me the extra $50 off since I'm getting it in the store.

Any Staples employees in New York or Vegas want to hook me up? I'll be over there soon and you can keep the $100 rebate for your trouble.

Is it true you get them 50 dollars cheaper in the store? I ordered a 64gb online but i heard if you order it from the store you will eventually get it for 449 instead of 499. I actually had it ship to my local store so if it is true i hope they can honor that price. Wouldnt want to pay 50 bucks more when i had ship to the store anyways. Any one can confirm?

In MA I see $499 less the 2 rebates = $299.
Not $249.
Not sure why MA is different. I would like one for $249 net.
Does anyone know if this deal is available in Canada? Both Futureshop and Best Buy offer $100 rebates in the form of gift cards; however, Staples has not updated their prices on their website.
I bought one online for $299 but have to pick it up at Staples. Do you think they would give me the extra $50 off, the in-store price?
If they don't give you $50 bucks off just ask them to refund you for the online purchase, and then pay the instore price. If they are difficult still insist on returning it in the store and then buy one right there.
