True but RIM is probably putting some money into the advertising that way. How much is anyone's guess.

Best Buy in Toronto has PB ads at the door and then throughout the store - it's impossible to miss. Staples here also has windows ads. I think TV ads are coming. I can't imagine they'll rely on retailers and word of mouth only.

Jim Balsillie is a huge hockey fan, maybe we will see some ads on some of the playoff games that start this evening?

None of the BestBuy employees around my area know anything about the PlayBook... Sad but true. I was hoping I could pre-order in store and pick up at that store on the 19th rather than sitting around waiting for UPS/FedEx to deliver it but no go on that.

I just got back from going to futureshop and wow they have displays everywhere. I spoke to the FS employee working in the main area of the PB and I asked him how presales are, and he said they have presold 33 16GB versions and about 15 32GB and none of the 64gb versions. i'm curious to know how many of the PB's were prebought because of CB or FS marketing. I ended up preordering myself today because my gf's brother can't guarantee he'll be able to get a unit to sell until mid-late may

My local 'The Source' (radio shack) located downtown has only 6 pre-sold, all 16gb.
