Default Some Southern California Office Depots Offering 16 Gb PB at 169, 64 Gb at 199

In the latest weekly ad that came out this weekend.

AFAIK, Office Depot doesn't allow PB returns for monetary refunds, just allows exchanges.

That is a killer price for a 64gb PlayBook, sounds like the price for a 32gb model.

The online store has them listed as
    16gb - 169.99
    32gb - 199.92
    64gb - 249.99

But stores may have some on clearance?

Nationally you can get the 64gb right now from office depot online for $249 with free shipping. For $199 i'd get the 64 in a heart beat

Thinking, there might be a mistake on the hard copy ad I received with my LA Times, I cheched the online version of the weekly ad targeted for my SoCal location. Still said 199 for that 64 Gb model.

What is odd is that the ad says that there is 50 dollar price drop from the base price but the base price for that model at Office Depot is 299. I may walk into a local Office Depot one of these days.

If it is a mistake, I hope they honor the ad.

A 64g PlayBook at $199 is the best deal ever if it is for a new one. If these are refurbished buy new its a couple bucks more.

These are new...same deal in Tallahassee. I went in and it showed a $100 price drop. Couldn't bring myself to buy it given RIM's perceived or real issues. Plus, I already have a 32GB unit.

Default Don't walk but drive very fast to your local Office Depot

Don't walk but drive very fast to your local Office Depot because 64GB playbooks are not just $199 in Southern California, they just maybe $199.99 at your local store like they are at mine here in Pennsylvania.

I just purchased a NEW 64GB PlayBook over the phone at a store 10 miles from my house in Pennsylvania for $199.99 + tax.

Here's is my True story. (So far)

I have been looking at the Office Depot web page off and on all night last night and I did see that my local store had two 16gb and one 64gb playbook in stock.
So this morning I called the store and they told me that they had one 64GB unit left then I heard her fumbled around some papers and she said...............................
The price is $199.99, I was a little shocked. I said to the lady "are you sure that is the price as it sounds like a 32gb price", she reply's........... Yes they are $100.00 off and the price is $199.99.
I almost kissed the lady through the phone. I then asked "can you hold if for me", she tells me that they are not permitted to do tht and then she said that I can purchase it over the phone and then come to pick it up at the store. So that is exactly what I did, I made a phone purchase for $199.99 + tax.
I'm leaving very shortly to go pick it up and I will update this post when I get back and maybe talk to the folks here on Crackberry to see if it is worth my while to root.

    Wish me luck.

    UPDATE

I did score the 64GB Plybook for 199.99 - I can not believe it.

Well I searched Miami Bestbuys last week. Nothing. I forgot to check Futureshop. Dang. Anyway I got my Malaysian friend one at the airport. $249 for the 32g. Apparently not the best price. But still well worth it! PLUS he will believe he got a swinging deal. That's all that matters.

Monday, bought a 64 Gb PB at a Los Angeles Office Depot for 199. Added a Targus Truss LeTher Case Stand for 1/2 price ($15), special price for buying at same time as the PB. California adds a $6 electronic waste disposal fee plus sales tax.

Had trouble getting the swipe feature working during initial setup. At that stage, may only accept swipes begun within black borders, but I'm not sure on that.

This PB may not charge as quickly as does my 16 Gb off the high-speed charger stand, but too early to tell.

On my other PB, have the latest beta OS. Might leave betas off the new PB and see if any differences in functionality are evident.

Good deal! Got mine in staples, 16g - 149$, 32g - 229$ plus 95$ shipment from Canada to Taiwan. Still a good deal coz bbpb here cost 295$ - 16g, 395$ - 32g which is hard to find due to limited inventory. Cant wait for my new shining pb which will arrive in 7 days! drooling to rock my pb!
