    Default Software Update?

I had a 2mb update on my PB in the UK?

Does anybody know what has been added?

You may have deleted a system app or file and it is just re-adding it

I got the same update! I'm in the UK as well. Could it be something region specific?

I also have just come in and my pb picked up my home wifi network and I got an application update message. No information on what application or what it did but after the update it required a restart!

Why can't RIM tell us what they are doing to our pb's or is it too top secret?

I checked earlier when reading this thread and no update, but now a few hours later there is a small update of 2Mb available. I am in the UK. I have not deleted or added anything the last week to my PB so must be genuine. The update will not install before my battery reaches 20% so will have to wait a little bit longer.. Oh well. Anyone in the know of what it might do? Fix, stability etc?

Updated mine too - no change log update so probably won't know what's in this patch unless someone from RIM says something!

These regional updates sometimes address carrier specific needs such as access to local appWorld and payment options

I too am in the UK and got the update once on a wifi network. I now have icons for News, Kobo Books, Music Store, BBC iPlayer and BBC News on the home screen - they weren't there previously. Existing browser links I'd created to iPlayer and BBC News remain in place.

Just got this too. Looks like it may be a fix for the amazing disappearing music store trick as well as adding some browser links that I think used to be there from os1.

Strange. I have the update too but I've always had my BBC, Kobo, Music apps icons anyway.

My update was 5 meg exactly. I think it was for BBC News, BBC iPlayer and ITV player shortcuts, BlackBerry News and Music Store.

Might be a flash fix for the browser. Seems to work now rather than asking for an update as it did last weekend. BBC and other streaming sites.

I think you might be right. The flash update message on iplayer (albeit a very brief one before it started to work anyway) has gone. You'd think that there would be somewhere on the BB UK site where you could find out exactly what the update was all about. sigh.
