Slacker 1.2.9 not working??

I just got the notification about new version of slacker 1.2.9 so i updated it (1MB). But now when i open the program it is stuck at loading screen. i restarted the playbook but still stuck in loading screen. Are you guys having that problem also?

I downloaded 1.2.9 yesterday (ironic, considering I called Slacker customer service that morning to ask why my Slacker app kept freezing after a few songs....yet they never said a new version was coming soon). After downloading it, I tested out and it worked fine. I think there is something odd going on behind the scenes because App World on my PlayBook hasn't worked this evening either.

never tried to use it after the update until right now after reading your post...and it's not working for me either.

Yeah my old version of slacker kept freezing after a few songs also. I updated to the new version as soon as I saw the notification about it. Now the new version stopped working all together and stuck at the loading screen.

Not working here either. I went to the website and its down also. Maybe it's just maintenance on their systems. I guess I'm forced to listen to my own music (1700 songs). Oh well

I'm also having the same problem but I went to checkout Slacker radio's twitter account and this is what they posted earlier raguarding this issue:

"@SlackerRadio: Some listeners may be experiencing technical difficulties. We are working on it now and everything should be back to normal very soon!"

i used to use slacker 20 times a day on my pb and bb until the bb version kept using all my skips when it wouldnt load songs...it would just buffer skip buffer skip buffer skip buffer skip nonstop and got me a little aggravated so i took a break for a bit.

i miss my slacker tho and was ready to listen to some music when i saw the pb update lol

Question - Does Slacker no longer offer free use? It used to be that after a certain time it would force you to either log in or push choose to keep listening... at which point you could choose to keep listening. Now are a certain time the only option is to log in with paid account.

So... no longer a free option???

i havent been able to login to slacker since upgrade to 2.0. I can login on my 9900 just fine

Yep, broke. Out of curiosity tried to create an account and test app. Just hangs.

Doesn't seem to limited to the Playbook app. Trying to load it up on my 9900 today and it just hangs on the "testing connections" screen.

I stand corrected.....I left my 9900 on the "testing connections" screen (after it had been on that screen for about 5 mins). Walked away, and when I came back it had actually loaded!

i dont know about free without an account but i have NEVER paid or had a paid/premium acct on slacker and have listened just fine

i do have a regular free acct (just use an email addy n password) allows you 6 skips per channel/station and unlimited playing. it did/does ask after awhile of no interaction with the apps if im still listening but i can continue to listen if i choose.

free acct you cant go backwards or look at the song info for anything but the current song playing but i can still like songs and make a favorites mashup style channel.

I have the same problem, but i don't think its playbook or BlackBerry specific. I cant get it to load on my dvd player or on the iphone my wife has. iphone gets a message saying Slacker Radio is temporarily unavailable.
