Should I get the Rapid Charger?

The rapid charger is just that its rapid it is twice as fast as the usb charger. I should know my dad keeps rubbing it in how fast it is lol

Check out RadioShack. I just picked up the rapid charger for $14 on clearance.

Seems to have charged by Playbook somewhat faster but haven't really done thorough testing. Either way, like stated before, it is a MUCH safer way to charge. I have had micro USB ports break on phones in the past and I could see over time that happening with the Playbook. Great time to buy Playbook accessories as everywhere seems to be liquidating. Hopefully Playbook 4G and BB10 will reinvigorate and we will all be able to use these cheap accessories.

I would highly recommend it. Battery life isn't as much of a problem now that I can charge the Playbook up much quicker.

I went with the Travel Charger version as the Stand version seems to have some build problems. Does anyone know if these ever were addressed?

Mine cost $19 of Walmart.com

i think CB have a Grand Opening code now, so buying from CB might be cheaper than Amazon. I think its 15% off.

I receiver my rapid charger from Rim today via fedex. Pretty nice and it only took a couple of weeks to get it so no big deal. Thanks for the heads up on here guys

Yes, worth it, and will save you wear and tear on the apparently easily damaged mini-USB port.

I have the dock and the rapid charger.

Not sure which one I like more (it may be the rapid charger because you can travel with it and keep the PB on a stand portrait mode with it plugged in).

Dock is convenient tho

My first Playbook lost the use of its USB port, so once I got the new one I also picked up a rapid charger. It's pretty handy, and really like its magnetic attachment.

I did the same, mine was faulty so called RIM, they offered me a new one with a free upgrade to a Rapid charger, so it's on it's way, must say great customer service ;-)

I got mine a week or so ago and love it, my little blackberry case i have works with it as well, the leather flap still sits up a bit but i dont have to worry about breaking my usb port, i just pop it on right before bed or in the morning getting ready for work and im good for the rest of the day
