Shot my 1st HD video with my playbook..check it out
I used my Playbook to record HD video (1080p) of riding an old wooden roller coaster today. I'm extremely pleased with the quality. Check it out and let me know what you think. Make sure you chose HD to watch the vid.

Nice video, looks great! By any chance did you get any more? Bumper cars would've been a pretty sweet vid as well haha!

cant look at the video atm, but i know from taking a short video of my dads dog tearing up a empty dog food bag im low light i love the pb's video recording abilities. the low light grainyness isn't all that bad. what we need is some good video editing apps.

Man... you are ballsy carrying the PB on a roller coaster... I'm so paranoid about dropping stuff that I don't even reach for my cellphone during these rides... what if eh...
Anyway... glad you had a crazy-glued the PB to your hands... lollzzz...
The video quality is amazing... I'm generally impressed by the PB's recording abilities except for low-light situations where it totally sucks... but oh well... what can you do...
A zoom would've been nicer too... - 05-30-2011, 11:10 AM #12
I'm pleased with the quality of the cameras on the PB, although I wish they performed better in low-light conditions.
That being said - nice vid! I love the creaky old wooden roller coasters, even though they aren't nearly as extreme they always get my heart pounding faster then the steel ones. - 05-30-2011, 02:21 PM #14
Very cool video. Did you record in 720 or 1080?

Have to admit the video quality looks really good. Lucky you didn't drop your PlayBook on the roller coaster though, not sure that would be covered under warranty, try explaining that to RIM lol

Looks great and fun. The ride looks a little sketchy and i heard someone say it was rickety.

WOW! Can't imagine myself holding my PlayBook on a coaster. I would probably drop it. The footage looks a lot better than the 1080p stuff I recorded. Granted, my footage was in low light.

Ohhh yeah... it's a blast. It's an old wooden roller coaster (built in 1958) and it rattles and shakes and whips you around corners fast
I love sitting in the back because the only thing holding you in is the bar across your lap... especially when you stick your arms up in the air.
You think any moment that it might collapse but it won't. That's the nature of a wooden roller coaster. It shifts and shakes with the cars rolling over the trestles.
It's very scary fun.
Not recommended if you have whiplash though because it'll make your whiplash worse. LOL...
