When I was restarted my PB I saw some weird coloured dots when the screen went black, I thought this was dead pixels or something but when I turned it back on you cant notice? Is this bad?

First off probably not it sounds like it corrected itself.I hardly ever turn mine off, just put it in stanby mode and plug it in a nite and its good to go in the morning.

There are a few Screen/Display apps that can test your screen. DisplayTest is one. Check it out.
