- im hoping for a release before Christmas-- maybe the option to pre-order at least.
Would be a nice surprise for all....11-11-10 11:30 AMLike 0 - I dunno, I almost hope they wait until after Jan 19, haha for purely selfish reasons.
I've been blathering on about it so much that I'm sure my boyfriend has his eye on it for me. If it comes out before Christmas he will be tempted to get it for me and I don't want him to spend that much on me!
Plus, don't rush a product. If RIM wants to wait a couple more months so that when they do release it, it's just that much better, I'll (impatiently) wait. I'm not going to buy any other kind of tab anyway11-11-10 11:55 AMLike 0 - I dunno, I almost hope they wait until after Jan 19, haha for purely selfish reasons.

so maybe just maybe. pre-order late Decemeber for a early jan delivery...11-11-10 12:14 PMLike 0 - 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of PLAYBOOKS danced in their heads;
And mamma with her BOLD, and I with my STORM,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like Adobie flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and nine tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than APPLE’S his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen! OH
Rudolph with your LED nose so bright!
To the top of the Torch! To the top of the trackball!
Now click away! Text away! And send away all!"
As many knew the wild Storm 3 would fly,
When they meet with OS7 and mounted to QNX,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of BLACKBERRIES, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of Blackberries he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to droid;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; with BLACKBERRIES FOR ALL
then turned with a ****,
And laying his finger aside of his track pad,
And giving a BBM, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the forums of CRACKBERRY.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to CRACKBERRIANS, and to CRACKBERRIANS a good-night."11-12-10 10:11 PMLike 0 -

- Not really. Retailers put things in commercials all the time that they MIGHT have or have in very limited quantities. It's all about getting you into the brick and mortar then selling you SOMETHING sorta, kinda, almost, maybe even better than what you thought you were coming in to get.
Bait and switch anyone?
And I will have a tablet by Christmas. If this is not ready, I'll be looking and Win7 tabs and their ability to run existing software.Last edited by dkingsf; 11-13-10 at 11:23 AM.
11-13-10 09:37 AMLike 0 - the Tab and the playbook have the same size screen and will look very similar. if you look in the commercial you can see the row of Android soft keys on the bottom of the device...thats the giveaway11-14-10 07:34 AMLike 0

- I don't think it will available this Christmas because all the dev tools to make app for playbook still not available (Java, Webworks for playbook still under development I guess).
My best bet is before Valentine. If I can't win a free Playbook, I wish my wife would buy it for me on Valentine's day :-)11-16-10 07:46 PMLike 0 -

- To be honest i think at the moment RIM is trying to get their market share back and if it does make it by christmas (doubt it but fingers crossed) they stand a strong chance at selling units to people who would have purchased an ipad for a gift, so from a marketing/financial point of view would be good if they stepped up development speeds and released it sooner than later.11-19-10 04:53 PMLike 0
- During the last webcast for PlayBook development it was said that January 1st the latest you can wait to submit your app and them still have time to get it reviewed and into app world before the PlayBook launch.
So there is no way it will come in time for Christmas.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com11-19-10 09:30 PMLike 0 - I'd still had some hope because since their Q3 ended in August, Q1 for them is December-February! On the other hand, the post just before mine has crushed that tiny glimmer of hope... Either way, I'd prefer a great product after Christmas to a buggy product that could be given as a gift...11-26-10 02:53 PMLike 0
