I followed up and they said it takes 14 days for them to provide a status on the rebate. I sent it in October 14th so I am patiently waiting. I hope I don't get screwed, I have 3 rebates pending.
No not yet, pretty sure it's been more than 14 days now since I mailed out the required papers. Judging from how they do business, expect 2-3 months delivery time.
i contacted them. they told me my application was approved but it would take them another 6-8 weeks to send the gift card. mine was submitted on sept 22.
I was wondering about this as well. Submitted mine on the 20th of Sep. (almost 28 business days ago) and have yet to hear anything. Needless to say, I, too, have lost most confidence in RIMM's ability to abide by a timeline.
I emailed asking for an update 3 days ago and no response from then yet?????
I emailed them 3 times, the first one was about 2 weeks ago. Still no reply to any of my emails. Great customer service eh. Make me wondering why they bother to give us the email address for that.
This is not RIM. The rebates are handled by a 3rd party marketing firm. These are the same people who caused about a month delay for developers to receive their playbooks around launch.
^It is RIM, they hired the 3rd party firm and should be following-up.
Don't play the blame game and pass the buck!
This is again, lack of customer focus and leaving us to hang and dry!
And the stupid "status" website...The same generic information for everyone. What is the point of that
We have received all you information and it has been approved as of
10/06/2011 for your voucher. It will take 6 to 8 weeks to receive your
$100 MasterCard.
Doesn't that sound like RIM.....Offer something grand, deliver it partially finished 6 months later and not exactly as described. Caveat Emptor!!
Good luck with your rebate. Most people do not complete their rebate application on-time nor do they follow the instructions as specified. Even if they make it through each rebate gate, they fail to use all the money on their MasterCard.
