I hope you don't take this the wrong way, if you do, it's most likely because you're using an old version of crackberry.

To my way of thinking, any device (non-touchscreen) that isn't expected to make full use of all the features in the fancy new OS6, can hardly be considered the flagship device. | Assuming the slider isn't labelled as a storm then it will end up being called a bold and that was the device that was most likely the basis for the presentation at wes.

I just hope their projected date of Q3 or 4 for the Storm 3 is on target since that will coincide with my upgrade window. I still have a Storm 1 and couldn't be happier with it. It has been flawless since I bought it (after the OS upgrades) so I couldn't find any real reason to get the S2. Looking forward to OS6.
At one time I thought I'd jump to an iPhone if it came to Verizon but after getting an iPod Touch, I decided those apps "ain't all that" and I much prefer the BB platform. The Storm4 will no more be an iPhone killer than the iPhone is a BB killer. Each has its own following based on personal preference, but RIM needs to up the ante when it comes to marketing and advertising. Apple makes it look like owning an iPhone is second only to breathing. Gotta hand it to them on that count!

"Second only to breathing?" I disagree...it's BEFORE breathing and in the event breathing is needed, there's an app for that, too!
Seriously though, you are correct on Apple's marketing, it's very strong and very successful (just witness the PC guy vs. the Apple guy series that has run for a long, long time). Nobody else manages to come up with such effective ads and I'm certain that has played into their sales volume as well.
I'd continue, but since my BB does NOT have a breathing app, I need to take off. Quote:

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | VZW, ATT, and Tmobile are all going LTE. VZW will have about 20 markets deployed by end of 2010 and will be expanding that into 2011 and completing in the 2012/2013 window. ATT is starting in 2011 but has a shorter upgrade path since they are already GSM as I understand it. (I think VZW will have a better network anyway just based on history.)
So yes, WiMaxx will only be on Sprint in NA.

Yeah that HTC EVO is something sexy, honestly though if you have 4G coverage (or getting REALLY SOON) with Sprint I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat without question, T-Mo is moving to HSPA+ for before it's LTE and so will ATT for some areas and they won't start LTE until 2011 while VZW will have areas this year and more next year, but they will have zero phones till the first half of 2011.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Dont jump into the WIMAX hype head first without looking first.
Look on Engadget with their EVO hands on from today. Im very *yawn* about WIMAX as Ive always been. The rep claims in an IDEAL situation (on a dedicated tower here) it was pulling 4mb down and Sprint caps it at 1mb up.
Tmo's HSPA+ is easily pushing those speeds and ATT's 7.2 HSPA gets pretty close (Ive seen 2.7mb down) as well and doesnt have a stupid 1mb up cap.
So youre paying for the data plan PLUS $10 extra for slower upload and 1mb more down? Doesnt seem worth it IMO. VZW's LTE trial shows LTE's speed advantage running at near 8mb down.

So the rumors say that the Storm3's SurePress will be "perfect". Storm2 owners enlighten me, what problems are you finding with the Storm2 SurePress? If OS6 and the Storm3 hardware delivers, I may upgrade from the Storm 9530 to the Storm3. My contract is up in December, so I'll be ready for my New Every Two discounts. That will also give VZW time to recover from a potential (?) sold-out launch window for the device, assuming it does launch in Oct-Nov.

I think the Surepress on my Storm2 is pretty good already. I don't know how they can improve on it.
But it sounds like timing will be perfect for you to upgrade to S3. |

But it sounds like timing will be perfect for you to upgrade to S3. | Totally agree. The SurePress on my Storm2 is the reason I can't go back to any other touchscreen device. It makes me feel spoiled.
