I had my PlayBook stolen (yes password protected) and I have a backup file on a USB drive. Really like to retrieve a lot of videos of grandkids.
I think the backup file was an archive file created using BlackBerry Desktop and just copied to the USB drive.
    My question
How can I restore those video files to any device?
    PC
    BlackBerry Z30
    Something else?
    All suggestions welcome

You used to be able to extract files from a PB backup, but I believe that backups are now encrypted and that this is no longer possible. Maybe the only way to retrieve the files that you want is to restore to another Playbook. This may be a lesson to all to manually backup all media and not use Desktop software to backup media.

That's about it, you will have to "re-load" your backup onto another PB. Make sure that the owner of the "transferee" Playbook back up their stuff before you do your stuff.....
