I have a PlayBook 4G LTE with a broken sim card tray. Has anyone ever had this happen to you? If so, were you able to get a replacement?

Mine came from a private party. Been trying to figure out how to contact RIM support directly. Not as easy as one would think.

    Any help would be appreciated

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

They can't send me a replacement sim card tray. They tell me I have to return the Playbook 4G for service. Problem is, I can't get them to give me an RMA# so that I can send it to them. I even offered to pay for service, but no response. They have been supposedly been working on getting me n RMA#, but how long does it take? It has been 3 weeks almost since I first contacted them. Not impressed. Not at all.

Now I'm stuck with a 4G Playbook that only works on wifi.

You mentioned "got from private party" and that may affect how they handle the issue. Keep after them and good luck.

The warranty is for the original owner. Since you bought it "used", you may not be eligible but keep trying.

Can you involve the original owner to possibly help?
