I agree. Having a spare is good especially when it comes at a good price.
I hope this helps. - 09-22-2012, 03:58 PM #4

Rapid charging stand is even less expensive. Vendors must be clearing out all their stock on the expectations that this is a dead product, or something.

I can't recommend this product. After awhile the springs on the charger get stuck inwards and won't charge the playbook.

If your in Canada then your sol. I tried ordering both the dock and rapid charger and neither can be shipped to Brampton. I guess I'll check out amazon.ca.

Already did, there is squat for cheap. Been hunting for a few days now off and on.
Actually, that's not completely true. If you have $50 you can get a rapid charger AND a convertible case from http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Produ...roduct=1749038 in a bundle. I figure you could turn around and sell the case for $25 and get the charger.
Thing is I already have that case...just got it too. Otherwise I would have bought the package myself. - 09-23-2012, 08:33 AM #17
Thanks for the heads up. My last rapid charger stopped working in less then a year, I have been using the one that came with my PB but it has a bit of a short in it and not very reliable. I have been waiting for a sale. I have been getting nervous that I would be without my PB!

Considering RIM said themselves that the PlayBook will indeed get a BB10 OS update in 2013, for the tablets to suddenly stop charging on it's own peripherals because of an OS update is just not a logical conclusion. If indeed this actually happened, and the tablets could NOT use their chargers, it would be a massive engineering failure and the end of RIM for the backlash and media push-back would bury them for good. It's not going to happen...just buy the charger.
