The whole OS is no longer supported, surprised Kobo worked as long as it did.

Because not many people in the world using a BlackBerry PlayBook soon or later they will stop supporting it or maybe they already stopped supporting it.

Although PB is not supported, it still works just fine for many older apps that don't require an update. It's my dedicated training video/documentation screen when I'm working at my desk, and I love taking it with me to study on my commute, after downloading the materials I need. The form factor, screen quality, and sound quality are all perfect for me. I own a pretty new iPad, but prefer the PB form factor for commuting.

    Hi Joey,

I'm able to load Kobo, read books in my library and search titles in the store. I didn't try to complete a purchase, but everything else is working normally. Maybe reload the app? Hope this helps!

    Best,

    Reg

We just bought a new book off Kobo (Hidden Figures) using laptop Desktop App. but it does not show up on either of our Playbooks. Other books that we get from BookBud via Kobo in similar way seem to turn up on the Playbook. I have tried logging in and out of the Kobo App as well as refreshing, but the book doesn't show up. This is on wifi. Don't have a cable with me to try direct connection to laptop. Maybe that might work?

Found the reason that some books won't sync. They are in epub3 format and that is not compatible with the Kobo Playbook App. Tuckd way down at the very bottom of the Kobo page that describes the book, it says this:

"This item can't be read in the Kobo app for Blackberry or on our Original/Wireless/Vox devices. Learn how to read EPUB3 files."

Trying to get in touch with Kobo to get a refund. But they have this awful site where you have to fill in a form, Then at very bottom it says to go to Chat or to Phone them. Tried Chat and nobody came on line Will phone, I guess.
