Found some serials in both the 1300 and 8000 ranges I'm going to check out tonight. Likely won't be able to tell about the pixels until taking it home but sure can check the bulge and power button.

I pre-ordered my 64g Playbook for delivery on release date and I have not had one single problem with it, not even the back bulge that others have had. Mine sits perfectly flat. Love my PB and can't wait for 2.0. I use this thing every single day.

My 64GB Playbook is a May build with a serial number that begins with 1343-80XX-XXXX. It has no dead pixels or yellow screen. There is no bulge on the back but the logo is raised ever so slightly -- the device still lies flat on a table. The power button is raised and easy to press.

However, I've handled many playbooks with a large bulge, recessed power buttons and/or dead pixels. It does seem that there is a higher than average rate of defects in the PB than other devices I've owned -- but I managed to get a good one and I enjoy it.
Same with my new 64gb PB bought this month from Shopblackberry.com, serial number 1343-82xx-xxxx, box date of 160511 and PIN number 5019xxxx (all numbers, no letters), has no bulge, no overheating, back and logo are flat and flush, power button is slightly raised and easy to push, no yellow screen and NO dead pixels at all.

My first 16gb PB bought several months ago had much lower serial number, month or so earlier box date (April 2011), lower PIN 500EAxxx (numbers and letters) with no bulge, no overheating, flat back and logo, no yellow screen, no dead pixels, but the power button was a little flush and was a little more difficult to depress than my new 64gb PB.

    just picked a 64 up with a May 18 date and serial 1343 6288...

absolutely perfect. zero bulge, perfect power button, no bad pixels and the color temp seems pretty good.

very happywith it so far after an hour of playing with it.

Look for the white data tag on the box the PB came in. Look for a number similar to 160511. The last three digits are the month and year of manufacture. In the case of 160511, 5 is the month (May) and 11 is 2011.

My 32GB purchased back in April 2011 was boxed on 030311. PIN is 500ED0D0 with S/N starting 1343-1. I just picked up a 64GB from The Source at Metrotown in Burnaby, BC. The boxed date is 040112 with S/N starting 1344-3. I won't set it up until tomorrow. The only difference I can see visually is that the power button is slightly higher compared to flush one on the 32GB. I expect the PIN will be 501 something.

I just got mine from online Best Buy. The serial number starts with 13435. The date is 010511.

The screen seems fine with good color and no dead pixels. It does have a bulge which isn't really noticeable to the eye but it wobbles and spins.
