Maybe I'm just going crazy or there's something I'm missing but, I have not been able to find a way of getting my PlayBook to display any loaded pictures in portrait mode. It seems the entire picture viewing application is only accessible in landscape mode. Is there a workaround to this? Or even an in-app way to rotate the images?

Try holding the playbook almost vertical. It worked for me.

I'm experiencing exactly the same behavior on my playbook. Let's I'm using the playbook in portrait mode, I tap the Pictures icon and it opens it in landscape!
