Will it be possible to hook a usb flash drive to the playbook, to add more storage to it for example ?
I know the playbook comes with a micro-usb port, but I'm sure there is a cable to convert to micro-usb.

I don't see a reason why it wouldn't, though I'm sure there's some small technical detail that would prevent it.

The USB works in the other direction, you plug the Playbook into a computer and access it, not storage into the Playbook?
The PlayBook won't act as a USB host until USB-OTG gets enabled "sometime soon". After that, it should support external storage devices.
Depending on how it was built, it could support OTG (On The Go) which is bidirectional. But that all depends on the circuit board, and if the software will even accept it. I imagine it does, but we'll have to wait for someone who has a Playbook to chime in.
Enabled by software or by hardware?
I have a micro to usb adapter (from my android tablet) so I can try once mine arrives.

Lets say you're using your playbook at work (which everyone will do I'm sure :)) and someone has some files on a usb drive and wants to share them with you, this could become useful.
I'm looking forward to 8 a.m tomorrow morning to buy mine ;)
or you could have a wired blackberry bridge which might save some battery / reduce lag from bluetooth. Or even charge your phone from the playbook in a pinch.
Anybody tried it?
As noted above, it is not supported yet but is promised for a later release...
