I'm having this issue, i loaded some MP4 videos on my Playbook and they have only 5.1 Audio, when i play it on the Video Player i can only hear ambient sound (obviously from left and right or back-left and back-right).
I was wondering... is there any way to force Stereo or play all channels on the 2 PB speakers?
I do not think anything is available at this time. I did not realize it could play "partial" sound or as you call it the ambient sounds (the ones that over power voice when I watch my tv system!!!).
In a video I had that did not play sound, I re-encoded using the Super video encoder and changed to mp3 audio leaving the rest the same. It does take time but that is the only option, I believe.
Well, the idea is try to avoid to remux the video again. But i guess that until a 3rd party app adds features as change between different audio tracks etc ill be force to change the audio of my videos
